What are Fresas Con Crema?
Fresas con Crema is a traditional dessert very popular in Mexico and other countries. Think of it as strawberries and Cool Whip, but with an irresistible twist that takes it to a whole new level of deliciousness. Light, no-bake, and made with simple, fresh ingredients, it’s the perfect summer treat.
The Difference in My Recipe:
The traditional way is a runny crema consistency. Taste delicious!
I started to see a trend of people in countries like Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador etc make and sell fresas con crema with a thicker consistency of crema.
Not only the consistency was different, but they were adding things like Nutella to the sides, and so many different toppings and drizzles.
They inspired me to give it a try. The biggest issue I came across is not having the same products they have over there. We don't have the 1 main product they use to make it thick.
So that's when my trial and error started. After many failures, I was able to find what works for me.
It's still simple ingredients found at your local grocery store. But it's in the process, amounts, and temperatures.
